A fishing town at the mouth of the Evans, quieter than the coast further north and with a very particular set of delivery conditions. Sand underneath, salt in the air, and streets built when everything arrived by boat or by rail.
Container demand at Evans Head is dominated by boat, fishing and marine gear storage, holiday and rental property storage, household storage for people renovating or between houses, trade storage for the steady building and maintenance work through town, and equipment storage on the surrounding cane and grazing blocks. Whatever is on your list, the quote covers the unit and the truck together, and we will say plainly if the cheaper grade would do the job.
Pick the grade against the contents. Cargo-worthy is checked wind and watertight. As-is is honest value for anything weather cannot spoil. Ask and we will send you pictures of the actual container before it is delivered.

Evans Head runs on the water and a good share of what goes into containers here reflects that. Boat gear, trailers, nets, motors, dive and fishing equipment, and the tools to keep all of it running. It is the kind of storage where lockable matters more than large, which is why we sell a higher proportion of 10ft and 20ft units here than 40fts.
Salt is the other constant. This is uninterrupted coastal air, and it will find any bare metal on a container. A scratch on a used unit shows rust inside a season, and an as-is unit with an existing patched repair or a perished door seal will deteriorate faster here than almost anywhere.
If the contents have to stay dry, buy cargo-worthy — that is the grade checked wind and watertight before it goes on a truck. If it is a box for a mower and some fencing wire, as-is is honest value and we will tell you what is wrong with it before you buy.
The single most useful sentence you can say on the phone about an Evans Head delivery is what the ground is at the spot. Sand, grass over sand, fill, gravel, concrete — it changes the vehicle we send.
This matters more than it sounds. A tilt-tray reversing across a sandy lawn can sink a wheel far enough that the whole job stops. A sidelifter placing a 40ft stands on four pads that concentrate enormous weight into small areas, and sand simply does not hold that.
None of it is a refusal. Steel plates, timber, a different vehicle or a placement nearer the hard surface all solve it. All of them need to be arranged before the truck leaves rather than negotiated in your front yard.
Sand is the defining condition here and it is the thing people forget to mention. Through most of the town and the flat ground behind it the surface looks entirely solid and does not behave that way under a loaded truck or under the four small pads a sidelifter stands on. A vehicle that sinks is a vehicle that will not place a container, and that is a wasted trip rather than a delay. The older streets closer to the river and the beach add the usual coastal problems: narrow frontages, parking on both sides, and mature trees and low services over the road. Away from the town the surrounding cane and grazing country is much more straightforward — wide gates, long approaches, and level ground — but it shares the low-lying character of the whole lower Richmond and it holds water after rain. Tell us what the surface is at the actual spot and we will bring the right vehicle rather than discovering it.
Underneath the local specifics the requirements do not move — a surface that will carry a loaded truck, a straight approach, and nothing overhead. Two or three photographs are worth ten minutes of questions. See the access guide.
